My background is in fine art and it is only relatively recently that I have used textiles in my work. I am fascinated by maps and plans. I like to record familiar journeys and places in many different ways using shapes which relate to the place or my perception of the journey to get there. I enjoy playing with perspective, giving some objects a greater significance than others. I work using a wide range of colours and stitch and dye all my fabrics so that I can ‘paint ‘ with the cloth .
